Privacy Policy — NestScrypted
Last updated: 30 August 2026
NestScrypted is a private application built for personal use. It is not offered to the public and has no users other than its owner.
What it does. NestScrypted connects the owner's own Google Nest devices to Scrypted, a home automation server running on the owner's home network, so that those devices can be used in Apple Home.
What it accesses. Using Google's Smart Device Management API, and only with the owner's explicit authorisation, the application accesses device names, types and status for Nest devices on the owner's account; camera and doorbell video streams; and device events such as doorbell presses and motion detection.
How data is handled. All processing happens on the owner's own hardware within their home network. Video is not recorded or retained by this application. Authorisation tokens are stored locally on that server and are transmitted only to Google's own services.
What is shared. Nothing. No data is sold, shared or disclosed to any third party. There is no analytics, no advertising, and no connection to any service other than Google's APIs.
Revoking access. Access can be withdrawn at any time from the owner's Google Account security settings, after which the application retains no access to any device.
